Who we are

Our product development style, influenced by decades of human-centered design and engineering at IDEO and 20 years of Silicon Valley consulting, seamlessly integrates Design Thinking and Agile methodologies. We’ve worked with clients ranging from major tech companies to small health startups across various industries. This breadth of experience has sharpened our intuition for addressing unique challenges.

For us, the name LeapLeap is audacious and embodies the power of duality—the belief that multiple perspectives coming together drive innovation further. This synergy is reflected in our founders:

Elger Oberwelz, an industrial designer, and Joerg Student, a design engineer, whose strengths complement each other effortlessly. One is an optimist, powered by bold visions, thinking in form, experience, and human needs. The other is a hopeful realist, grounded in feasibility and strategic thinking, refining functionality and pushing technical possibilities. Their collaboration, forged at IDEO around 2008, is built on contrast and balance—two perspectives leaping forward together to create something greater than either could alone.
